Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Moon Rabbit comes from a folktale shared across many parts of Asia. In one version, a deity visits earth in disguise, asking animals for food. An otter brings fish, a monkey offers fruit, but a rabbit, having only grass, offers himself instead.

Moved by this act of humility and sacrifice, the deity brings the rabbit to the moon, where he lives on as a companion to the moon goddess, often depicted preparing the elixir of life with a mortar and pestle.

You can still see its silhouette in the moon… if you know where to look.

We’re also a short walk from Metro Center and Gallery Place-Chinatown. Rideshare is often the easiest option during peak hours.
